In the 2012 Wyoming Kids Count Data Report, the fifteen most populous Wyoming counties are ranked using 12 key child well-being indicators. The remaining eight counties each with less than 2 percent of the state's 132,000 children appear in the report but are excluded from the overall ranking. The non-ranked counties are Niobrara (.4%), Hot Springs (.7%), Crook (1.2%), Weston (1.2%), Platte (1.3%), Johnson (1.4%), Washakie (1.6%), and Sublette (1.7%).
The fifteen counties are ranked based on an average of the rankings of twelve equally weighted indicators in this report. A data profile comparing each county to the state across the twelve indicators is provided online for each of the 23 counties (see below).
Congratulations to the people of Albany, the county ranked first in Wyoming for child well-being based on twelve key indicators.
Fremont county is ranked last among Wyoming’s fifteen most populous counties making it the community most obviously in need of further investments in kids.
